Kindergarten Homeroom

 French Teacher

Mme. Lisa Cooke is currently teaching Kindergarten and the Core and Extended French teacher.  She has been teaching at True North Academy since January 2008.  Previous to teaching at True North Academy, Lisa taught for 6 years at the Clearview Montessori School in the French classroom and in the French Casa classroom (3-6 year olds).  Lisa holds an Honours Degree from York University in French Studies and a Montessori Teaching Certificate for the Casa Level from The Montessori Teachers College in Toronto.  Her passion is teaching young children and watching their knowledge become inspired to grow.  In her spare time she enjoys running, skiing, reading, spending time with her family and friends and teaching Sunday school at her church.


 Ms. Elizabeth Jaffray 

Grade 6-7-8 Homeroom

Mathematics Teacher

Elizabeth Jaffray is new to True North Academy and will be teaching the grade 6/7/8 class. Elizabeth has her Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. Her designation is Primary/Junior/Intermediate with additional qualifications in Special Education and Intermediate Math. Elizabeth loves making a difference in a child's life, whether it's through the knowledge they gain in the classroom or having fun on the playground. Elizabeth's interests include hot yoga, running, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.


 Ms. Kayla Eberhardt  



Kayla has her Early Childhood Education Diploma from Canadore College. She also has her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Bachelor of Education with Primary/Junior qualifications from Nipissing University. She also has an additional qualification in family studies at the Intermediate level through Queens University. Kayla is creative and has a passion for teaching. She enjoys reading, camping and spending time with family and friends. 


Mrs. Kate Mustard

Grade 1-2 Homeroom

Music Teacher


Kate Dunsford has been teaching at True North Academy for seven years.  She is currently teaching the grade 1/2/3 class but has also taught grades 4-6 in a variety of subjects.  Kate has her Honours Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University.  Her designation is Primary/Junior with addition qualification in Special Education.  Kate is passionate about teaching.  She takes the time to get to know each and every one of her students.  She strives to make learning enjoyable for all.  Kate’s interests include traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.   



Ms. Amelia Lockhart 

Grade 3-4-5 Homeroom

Language Teacher


Amelia Lockhart has been teaching at True North Academy since the fall of 2012.  Amelia has her Honours Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University with a major in English and a double minor in Psychology and Women’s Studies. She has her Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario with an Intermediate/Senior designation with teachables in English and the Social Studies. She has additional qualifications in Special Education and at the Junior level.  Amelia is a fun-loving, creative, thoughtful teacher that loves to engage all her students in a number of ways to make learning fun. Her interests include reading, writing, running, skiing and swimming.
