Mme Lisa Cooke
Grade 4-5 Homeroom Teacher
Mme. Lisa Cooke is currently teaching Grade 4-5 and the Core and Extended French teacher. She has been teaching at True North Academy since January 2008. Previous to teaching at True North Academy, Lisa taught for 6 years at the Clearview Montessori School in the French classroom and in the French Casa classroom (3-6 year olds). Lisa holds an Honours Degree from York University in French Studies and a Montessori Teaching Certificate for the Casa Level from The Montessori Teachers College in Toronto. Her passion is teaching young children and watching their knowledge become inspired to grow. In her spare time she enjoys running, skiing, reading, spending time with her family and friends and teaching Sunday school at her church.
Mrs Kayla Harriman
Kayla has her Early Childhood Education Diploma from Canadore College. She also has her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Bachelor of Education with Primary/Junior qualifications from Nipissing University. She also has an additional qualification in family studies at the Intermediate level through Queens University. Kayla is creative and has a passion for teaching. She enjoys reading, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs Kate Mustard
Grade 1/2/3 Homeroom
Kate Dunsford has been teaching at True North Academy for seven years. She is currently teaching the grade 1/2/3 class but has also taught grades 4-6 in a variety of subjects. Kate has her Honours Bachelor of Arts and her Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. Her designation is Primary/Junior with addition qualification in Special Education. Kate is passionate about teaching. She takes the time to get to know each and every one of her students. She strives to make learning enjoyable for all. Kate’s interests include traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs Amylynn Culham
Amylynn Culham has been teaching Kindergarten at True North Christian Academy since May 2018 and is also the Bible teacher. Prior to this, Amylynn worked as a Children’s Pastor at Clearview Community Church in Stayner and then Creemore. She earned her Early Childhood Education Diploma from Georgian College and her Bachelor of Religious Education from Masters College and Seminary. Amylynn is passionate about God and children. She loves teaching young children and celebrating with them as they grow! Amylynn enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs Melissa Aberdeen
Melissa Aberdeen has been in the childcare field since 1997. Graduating from Seneca College with her E.C.E diploma, she has worked in childcare centers throughout Toronto until 2011. She has owned her own home daycare and homeschooled her 2 children for 5 years. She has a passion for being in the classroom, watching the children learn and reach milestones. Melissa’s interests are spending time with family, beach days, and being in nature.
